The Summer Legal Academy (SLA) is a two-week paid opportunity for students who are interested in law. The SLA connects students with the resources and tools to consider pursuing a legal career. Students can expect to participate in mock law school lectures taught by law professors, read case studies, practice LSAT problems, and sit-in on panel discussions. The SLA is open to Harris County residents who are rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school, or rising freshmen in college. Priority will be given to first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and/or members of groups underrepresented in the legal profession.
